Is it large enough for my dog ?
The Corby is 1m length and 0.5m width, Measure your dog from the neck to the haunch to check if it is suitable.
Is it right for me
Yes they love it and if it makes your life easier its makes everyone happier. But check you have the space near your entrance . The ramp is removable and can be placed inside the station when not being used.
Weight !!!
The Corby is 50kg inside the packaging, it is heavy so please make sure that there are at least 2 people to move the Corby around on delivery and to help with assembly.
Part built
The Corbys are shipped for assembly on site with all parts and tools provided. The Basin is prebuilt and the ramp is built apart from legs. The frame needs to be assembled by bolting the pre fabricated parts together and the basin slid in and bolted on. Instructions come with the Corby as well as all the bolts and screws. You should expect it to take about an hour to set up at a relaxed pace. We would advise 2 people for set up but it can be easily managed by one.
Unpack and check
Find a nice clear work area inside or out and remove the packaging.
Check that you have all the parts and documentation and if anything is missing please get in touch with us ASAP.
Allan keys are provided for the bolts, and we would advise to use these rather than an electric drill so you don't damage the bolts.
Instructions?
Instructions can be found both within the Corby packaging showing the best way to put set up and a HOW TO video can be found here
Where to locate?
The Corby can be easily placed on any flat area. Ideally you want it where you enter the house with your dog, close to a drain for the waste pipe and close to a hose tap for cleaning.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Many of our products have been awarded the German government's Blue Angel eco label since 2005. The Blue Angel guarantees that products and services meet high environmental, health and performance standards. In addition, hanit® is free from toxins and harmful substances in accordance with DIN EN 71-3 (European standard for the safety of toys) and meets the same high standards that also apply to children's toys.
CONSERVING RESOURCES THROUGH RECYCLING
Recycling short-life plastic packaging is particularly important for protecting resources and the environment because it is produced almost exclusively for single use and then immediately disposed of. With the huge quantities of packaging waste generated on a daily basis, environmentally friendly solutions and technologies are urgently needed to recycle as much packaging as possible and keep it in the cycle long term. In this way, natural resources are conserved, especially crude oil, which serves as a basis for the production of new plastic. Moreover, much less energy is used for recycling than if a product or material is created from scratch.
How do i get my dog up the ramp
We have found that that a few dog treats in the basin and gently guiding your dog up the ramp with treats works great. We have introduced lots of dogs to the Corby and they find it quite intuitive to go up the ramp. Lots of cuddles and positive affirming once in the basin also helps. We have seen that due to the height that some of our dogs enjoy the basin just to be closer to their owners and for extra cuddles
How often should i use it
The Corby is built for constant use, and is ideal for a quick belly and paw hose after most walks
Cleaning tips
For the easiest clean we have found using a brush attachment for the hose, and added a warm water tap to the outside. We have holes on the side of the frame to thread rope which we have used to hang towels for easy reach.
